The EventNett events calendar
EventNett is an events calendar modeled after
the openness of Wikipedia. Anyone can add new events or edit existing
events without having to log in or provide any personal information.
There are no advertisements so you don't have to click through multiple
pages or scroll past banner ads in order to view event information. More
importantly, there is no central control. A single company or individual
doesn't decide what gets listed or what gets prominent placement. Shows
at your community theater or drink specials at your neighborhood's
corner bar are as important as stadium concerts or wine tastings--all
based on what you want to see.
The intention behind EventNett is to allow you
to quickly find what you're interested in or to add what you think
others might like. EventNett brings events to you with as little
intervention as possible.
Using EventNett
You can browse events from either the Map, Calendar,
Timeline, or List
tabs. Events in those views are filtered with the criteria you
provide in the filter to the left.
The buttons in the upper right allow you to add an event or location
(venue). You add an event by first entering a name and description, then
entering the scheduled times for that event, and then finally specifying
an existing or new location. Events and locations can be tagged with up
to 20 keywords each.
You can create an account or log in to your
existing account by clicking login at the
upper right. Creating an account will allow you to have a default filter
area (based on your city, state and zip) and a default time zone. An
account is not required to use EventNett. All of the account settings
can be configured without creating an account, but they must be
re-entered for each session. All information is private and will never
be provided to third parties.
The Admin view
provides queries that help maintain the information in EventNett. The Recently Edited list within the Admin view
shows events edited in the last week. The Deleted
list shows events marked for deletion (pending permanent deletion). The
Expired list shows events that are no
longer scheduled (also pending permanent deletion). Deleted and Expired
events get permanently deleted after a month. Deleted events can be
restored prior to permanent deletion. Similarly, expired events can be
edited to update their schedules and remove them from the expired list.

EventNett will only be useful with increased
content and features. Contact me here with your requests,
